From Receiving to Reaching Others

Mark 5:18–20

Every young person is given something valuable by the people God places in their life.

Parents teach values.

Teachers share knowledge.

Mentors offer guidance.

Pastors teach God’s Word.

These are seeds being planted.

When Jesus healed the man in Mark 5, He did not tell him to keep the experience to himself. He told him to go and share what God had done.

In the same way, there comes a point when every young person must take responsibility for what has been invested in them.

Your parents can teach you about Jesus.

Your church can teach you the Bible.

Your teachers can help you learn skills and knowledge.

But eventually, you must choose what you will do with what has been deposited into you.

Growth happens when knowledge becomes action.

Wisdom is not simply knowing something. Wisdom is using what you know.

The lessons you learn today are preparing you to help someone else tomorrow.

The encouragement you receive can become encouragement you give.

The kindness shown to you can become kindness you show others.

The faith that was modeled for you can become the faith that influences your friends, classmates, coworkers, and future family.

God never intended for us to only receive.

He wants us to grow, mature, and become people who positively impact others.

Every lesson is a seed.

Every opportunity is preparation.

Every investment is a responsibility.

One day, someone else may need what has been deposited into you today.

What is one lesson your parents, teachers, pastor, or mentor have taught you that you can begin applying and sharing with others?

What is deposited into you today can become the breakthrough someone else needs tomorrow.
